Disability categories under IDEA

Under IDEA, a child with a disability is a student evaluated as having one of the qualifying conditions below and who, by reason thereof, needs special education and related services. Eligibility is not just a medical label. The school must evaluate your child and show that the disability affects learning enough to require an IEP.
