Last updated: June 23, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
Find Parent Advocates is operated by Team-Based, LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using findparentadvocates.com, our advocate portal, or related services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Our Services
Find Parent Advocates is a directory and technology platform. We help families search for independent special education advocates by location, specialty, and reviews. We help advocates list their practice, receive inquiries, and manage their public presence.
Our platform includes:
- Location-based advocate search and public profile pages
- Parent inquiry forms delivered to an advocate's portal inbox
- Verified client reviews on advocate profiles
- Consultation booking for eligible Professional advocates
- Educational articles, guides, and knowledge base content
- Advocate portal tools, including profile editing and billing
- Direct advocacy services through our Associate Advocates program (separate from independent directory listings)
Independent advocates listed in our directory are not employees or agents of Find Parent Advocates. They set their own rates, scope of work, and client agreements. We do not guarantee advocacy outcomes.
3. User Accounts
When you create an account, you must provide accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for safeguarding your password.
Notify us promptly at support@findparentadvocates.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful purposes
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
- Submit fake, fraudulent, or misleading reviews
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data without permission
- Interfere with platform security or operations
- Circumvent access controls or subscription requirements
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, remove content, or take other appropriate action.
5. Reviews and Verification
Reviews help families compare advocates. We encourage honest feedback based on real experiences.
Review guidelines
When submitting a review, you agree to:
- Describe an actual service relationship with the advocate
- Provide truthful and accurate information
- Use respectful language
- Submit only one review per advocate per service relationship
- Not submit reviews on behalf of others without disclosure
False information
Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent reviews violates these Terms. This includes reviews for advocates you did not work with, fake accounts used to post multiple reviews, or false verification information.
Enforcement
We may investigate reviews and contact submitters to verify them. Violations may result in:
- Removal of the review
- Loss of verification status
- Account suspension or permanent ban
We may remove reviews that violate these terms without prior notice.
6. Advocate Listing Terms
Advocates who subscribe to list on our directory agree to:
- Provide accurate qualifications, experience, and service details
- Maintain professional conduct in all client interactions
- Respond to inquiries in a reasonable timeframe
- Handle payment arrangements directly with families
- Comply with applicable laws and professional standards
- Not misrepresent affiliation with Find Parent Advocates
Listing advocates are independent professionals. We do not take a referral fee or commission on cases between parents and listed advocates.

- Accept that listings may be suspended for non-payment or policy violations
You may upgrade or downgrade plans according to options in your billing portal. Downgrades typically take effect at the end of the current billing period. Upgrades may take effect immediately with prorated charges.
7. Associate Advocate Terms
Associate Advocates are directly affiliated with Find Parent Advocates and provide services under our standards, separate from independent directory listings.
Associate Advocates agree to:
- Complete our vetting and training requirements
- Deliver services according to our policies and quality standards
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Document time and activities for billing purposes
- Participate in ongoing professional development
Specific engagement terms for each client are provided in a separate agreement. Associate Advocates represent Find Parent Advocates when delivering services through our in-house programs.
8. Parent Terms
Parents and caregivers using our platform agree to:
- Provide accurate information when searching or contacting advocates
- Communicate respectfully with advocates
- Pay independent advocates according to terms you agree on directly with them
- Understand that advocacy results cannot be guaranteed
- Share only information needed for an advocate to evaluate whether they can help
Use of the directory is free for families. We are not a party to contracts between you and an independent advocate.
9. Booking and Scheduling
Professional advocates may offer consultation booking through Find Parent Advocates. When you book:
- You provide contact details and optional notes so the advocate can prepare for the consultation
- Appointment times are based on availability the advocate sets in their portal
- Cancellation and rescheduling policies are set by the advocate unless we state otherwise at booking
- Booking confirms a meeting time. It does not create an ongoing advocacy relationship or guarantee services beyond the scheduled consultation
Advocates may also link external schedulers on their profiles. Use of those tools is subject to the third party's terms.
10. Payments and Billing
Independent advocate payments
For advocates listed in our directory, we do not process payments between parents and advocates. Payment terms are agreed directly between you and the advocate.
Advocate subscription billing
Advocate listing fees are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method for the plan you select. Subscription details and cancellation options are available in your advocate portal.
Associate Advocate services
For services provided by Associate Advocates, fees, rates, and billing practices are set out in your engagement agreement with Find Parent Advocates. Unless your agreement states otherwise, invoices are due within 30 calendar days of the date you sign.
By engaging Associate Advocate services, you agree to:
- Pay at the applicable hourly rate stated in your agreement
- Provide accurate payment information
- Pay invoices by the due date in your agreement or invoice
- Understand that time is billed in 15-minute increments
- Accept that billable time may include meetings, document review, school communication, preparation, and related advocacy work
Our standard rates, when not modified in your agreement, are $100 per hour (standard) or $75 per hour under Families First pricing (see Section 11).
11. Families First Pricing
Families First pricing offers a 25% discount on Associate Advocate services ($75 per hour instead of $100) for families who request it when cost is a barrier.
We do not verify eligibility
We do not verify income or require documentation. Families may request this rate during a consultation if cost is a barrier. We trust families to choose the rate that fits their situation.
Examples of qualifying circumstances
The following are examples only. We do not limit the discount to these situations:
- Receiving federal or state assistance such as SNAP, WIC, TANF, SSI, or Medicaid
- Qualifying for free or reduced-price school meals
- Household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
- Significant financial hardship, such as medical costs or recent job loss
Availability
Families First pricing may be subject to capacity limits. Standard pricing remains available without a waitlist.
We may modify or discontinue Families First pricing with reasonable notice where feasible.
12. Refunds and Cancellations
Advocate listing subscriptions
Advocate subscriptions may be canceled at any time:
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No refunds for partial months or unused time
- Annual Professional subscriptions are non-refundable after 14 days from initial purchase
- Plan changes follow options in your billing portal and may apply at the next billing cycle depending on your settings
Associate Advocate services
For services provided by Associate Advocates, fees are billed in accordance with your engagement agreement. Unless your agreement states otherwise, payment is due within 30 calendar days of the date you sign.
Delivered services
We do not issue refunds once advocacy services have been delivered. This includes amounts you pay before the invoice due date. Delivery means billable work performed on your matter, such as meetings attended, document review, school communication, preparation, or related advocacy tasks documented in your file.
Prepaid, undelivered services
If you paid in advance for services that were not delivered, you may contact support@findparentadvocates.com within 30 days of the payment date to request a review. We will consider requests in good faith. Any adjustment is limited to fees for documented, undelivered billable time and is at our discretion.
We generally do not provide refunds or credits when:
- The work was delivered as described in your invoice or file
- You missed a scheduled session without notice required by your agreement
- An advocate reserved time or began preparation before you canceled
- The request is made more than 30 days after the payment date
Approved adjustments may be issued as a refund to your original payment method or as a credit toward future services, at our election. Nothing in this section limits remedies you may have under applicable law.
Unpaid balances
Unpaid invoices for services already rendered remain due and payable.
13. Limitation of Liability
Find Parent Advocates is not responsible for:
- Outcomes of advocacy efforts
- Decisions by schools or education agencies
- Quality of services by independent listed advocates
- Disputes between parents and independent advocates
- Content or conduct on third-party scheduling or payment tools
For Associate Advocate services, we maintain quality standards but cannot guarantee specific educational outcomes. Results depend on many factors outside our control.
Not legal services: Advocates on our platform provide educational advocacy, not legal representation. For due process hearings or litigation, consult a qualified special education attorney.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE PROVIDE THE PLATFORM "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
14. Privacy
Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information.
15. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or through the platform.
Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
